Sam Keayes
Senior Vice President, Security and Authentication Technologies
Sam Keayes is the Senior Vice President of the Security and Authentication Technologies segment within Crane NXT. He has been in this position since May 2024 with responsibilities for the Crane Currency and Opsec Security businesses and the strategic development of the segment.
Sam joined Crane Currency in January 2019 as the Vice President of International Currency and was promoted to President of Crane Currency in 2020. Under Sam’s leadership, Crane Currency launched several successful new products, growing the adoption of Crane Currency’s micro-optics security technology in banknotes to over 150 denominations in 50 countries.
Sam joined Crane Currency from Thales, a global engineering business serving aerospace, ground transportation, defense and security markets. Sam held senior operational and commercial leadership roles in Thales UK and Thales Australia, including Vice President, Strategy and Government Relations; Vice President, Security and Consulting; and Vice President, Secure Communications and Information Systems/Ground Transportation Systems. Earlier in his career, Sam worked for the British Government where he held a variety of roles in security, defense, and international relations.
Sam holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from Cranfield University and a Masters Degree in Social and Political Sciences from St John’s College, Cambridge University.
